forbes streamForbes recently launched a mini social network that allows readers to save and share visual content with other readers and discover content from Forbes magazine and the company’s web site.

Stream is part of the new Forbes magazine app for iOS — which was developed by the NY-based tech startup MAZ — that is optimized specifically for tablet and mobile devices.

Readers can use their finger to cut out visual content from the Forbes mobile site, allowing Forbes readers to share Forbes content on public “streams” or on their own personal streams. The content can also be shared on other social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr.

“As part of our efforts to continue to innovate in digital publishing, we are focused on meeting the needs of our readers and providing them with the content they want, when they need it, in the manner that they want it in,” said Lewis D'Vorkin, Chief Product Officer of Forbes Media. “Consumers today are increasingly more interested in visual content as we see from the dramatic growth in visual social sharing platforms. The new Forbes app will allow our readers to share, save and discover content in a manner that they prefer.”
