Report Reveals Promising Future For Cloud Computing

Cloud ComputingMore companies are investing in cloud-based applications, including marketing automation, to take advantage of the low cost, improved security and mobile accessibility. In fact, cloud computing is expected to stay in the double digits through 2016.

“Cloud computing continues to grow,” according to a recent TechRepublic cloud-computing report. “Companies implementing SaaS solutions are overwhelmingly pleased with their outcomes, with 91% reporting that their SaaS solutions met or exceeded expectations.”

Salesforce Reports Double-Digit Revenue Growth For Q4, Fiscal 2013

SalesforceSalesforce.com posted double-digit revenue growth in Q4 and its full fiscal year, which ended Jan 31, and projected strong earnings for the coming fiscal year.

For the full fiscal year 2013, the company reported revenue of $3.05 billion, an increase of 35% from the prior year. Subscription and support revenues were $2.87 billion, an increase of 35% on a year-over-year basis. Professional services and other revenues were $181 million, an increase of 29% on a year-over-year basis.

Marketo Announces IPO Plans

marketo LogoMarketo confirmed today that it plans to conduct an initial public offering. Industry sources expect the IPO to take place during Q3 of 2013, following a standard SEC review and other preparatory actions.

Experts say the Marketo IPO is designed to capitalize on the company’s strong Q4 and Q1 financial performance, as well as the buzz following Eloqua’s acquisition by Oracle, which was finalized this month.

HubSpot Releases Tool To Measure Social Sharing

HubSpot Logo 2xHubSpot released LinkTally, a new tool to calculate how many times a link has been shared across Twitter, Google+, Facebook and LinkedIn.

HubSpot ExactTargetHubSpot increased its revenue, customer count and number of employees in 2012, according to the marketing automation firm’s financial report. ExactTarget also reported strong Q4 and 2012 results, with revenue of $292.3 million in 2012, a 41% increase compared to 2011.
