Social Enterprise Takes Center Stage At Dreamforce 2011 As Vendors Roll Out New Tools

Salesforce.com unveiled the “social enterprise,” a new framework of apps and innovations leveraging social, mobile and open cloud technologies to revolutionize companies’ relationships with their customers. The social enterprise launch included the release of Chatter Now, Chatter Approvals, Chatter Customer Groups, Chatter Service and Data.com.

Silverpop Partners With Janrain To Offer Social Sign-In Capabilities To Streamline Web Visits

Entering a one-year exclusive agreement, Janrain selected Silverpop as its premier marketing automation provider.

HubSpot Acquires Social Media Firm Oneforty; Attempts Guinness Record For Largest Online Seminar


HubSpot
announced yesterday its acquisition of Oneforty, a social media marketing company based in Cambridge, MA. Oneforty developed a directory of social media applications that will be merged into the HubSpot App Marketplace. Additionally, Oneforty’s social media marketing tool called SocialBase also  will be incorporated into the HubSpot product.

News of the acquisition comes just two months after HubSpot acquired marketing automation provider Performable. In March 2011, HubSpot received $32 million in Series D funding from Sequoia Capital, Google Ventures, and Salesforce.com. “Having Oneforty join our team and working with them on transforming marketing is exciting,” said HubSpot CEO Brian Halligan. “The combined social media expertise of HubSpot and Oneforty will benefit all of our customers.”

Glance Unveils New Chatter Feature To Connect Team Members


BtoB marketing companies continue to embrace social networking sites to connect with prospects, colleagues and other companies on a more personal level.

Illustrating this trend, Glance Networks, an Internet-based desktop sharing and web conferencing service provider, recently launched Glance for Chatter, a new add-on to its Glance for Salesforce solution, during the Cloudforce Boston event. The add-on automatically alerts Salesforce users via Chatter whenever impromptu, collaborative selling and support sessions occur with prospects or customers.

Silverpop Launches New Features Focused on Social, Mobile and Local Marketing Strategies

Silverpop recently announced the addition of several new product features deisgned to help marketers leverage social, mobile and local channels for a more connected marketing approach. Technology has enabled consumers to communicate on the go through social networking sites and access their email inboxes on-the-go. Silverpop said it will combine email marketing and social networking by launching its Share-to-Social feature, to help marketers become more “mocial” by integrating social, mobile, local and email.

Via new social-sharing options to the Silverpop Engage, marketers can allow recipients to promote messages to their Facebook friends via “like” and “recommend” buttons and can suggest a list of additional Twitter accounts for a contact to follow after they have shared content.  Silverpop has also added StumbleUpon and Xing to the list of networks to which email recipients can share content.
