New Research Finds Marketers Missing The Boat On Social Lead Gen Tools

With social media continuing to explode, marketers have the opportunity to tap into new tools and tactics to optimize their messaging. However, new research indicates that some marketers are not taking advantage of the budding technologies.

The first annual B2B Marketer Skills Survey, a study conducted by Genius.com to examine the challenges facing marketers and how the position is evolving in the enterprise. Among the missed opportunities identified in the survey 50% of respondents don’t blog and 49% don’t use Twitter, according to the survey.

Marketo Reaches 500 Customer Milestone; Closes $10 Million In Series D Funding

Marketo made simultaneous announcements this week that the company has surpassed the 500 customer mark in just two years, and that it has closed $10 million in Series D funding to further accelerate the company’s rapid growth curve.

Phil Fernandez, president and CEO of Marketo, said the company added 119 new customers in the first quarter of 2010. He told DemandGen Report that the company has set an internal goal to grow its customer base to 1,000 by the end of the year, which would require it to step up its already rapid growth rate to an average of more than 165 per quarter.

CDC Software’s Investment In Marketbright May Signal M&A Activity Within Automation Space

CDC Software Corp., a publicly-traded provider of enterprise software applications which has been on an aggressive acquisition path, recently announced an agreement to make a strategic investment in marketing automation vendor Marketbright. In addition, CDC Software has agreed to develop a strategic relationship with Marketbright whereby both companies are expected to resell each other's solutions and potentially expand the relationship into other strategic activities.
