Data-driven performance marketing agency Merkle has acquired DBG, a UK-based independent marketing solutions agency, for an undisclosed fee. The acquisition positions Merkle to enhance its offerings within the European market.
The acquisition comes shortly after Merkle’s previous acquisition of Periscopix, a performance marketing and programmatic agency based in the UK. Both acquisitions intend to reinforce Merkle’s global presence in the EU region.
Tim Berry, former President of Merkle’s CRM solutions, has been appointed President of Merkle Europe. Berry will be tasked with driving the company’s European growth strategy.
“As the needs of our European and multi-national clients expand, it’s important for Merkle to build competencies that complement our U.S. business model, working with in-country professionals who share our values of hard work and entrepreneurial spirit,” said David Williams, Merkle’s chairman and CEO.
DBG CEO Richard Lees added: “We believe this opportunity will not only ensure the best future for our company, but will also expand the range of products and capabilities available to clients, adding best-in-class expertise and global scale.”
