SpringCM Adds iPad Support To New Version Of Content Management


SpringCM
recently announced the latest release of its cloud enterprise content management platform, featuring new dynamic case management capabilities designed to deliver more consistent execution, enhance team productivity and increase management visibility of key business processes.

The new release is designed to enable users to organize teams, tasks and content by using a checklist metaphor to drive such applications as new account openings, vendor on-boarding and audits. In addition, the new release includes mobile support for the Apple iPad to help executives and mobile workers perform more efficiently. The support offers access to cloud capabilities, including full text search of corporate content repositories.

SugarCRM Announces Acquisition, Integration With IBM & Others In Social Business Expansion


Now serving more than 7,000 customers and 800,000 end users in 80 countries, SugarCRM used its SugarCon event last week to announce an acquisition and debut new additions to Sugar 6, all aimed at enhancing the company’s leadership position around “social business.”

During the event, SurgarCRM announced it has acquired iExtensions CRM from iEnterprises, Inc. for an undisclosed sum. iExtensions has been a leading CRM solution for IBM Lotus Notes, and in 2010 was the winner of the Best in Lotusphere Showcase award.

The newly acquired functionality adds enhanced support for IBM collaboration tools inside Sugar 6.  The added features include native Notes support as well as Notes email and calendar plugins, and a connector to the IBM Domino product line.

Salesforce.com’s Radian6 Acquisition Fuels Speculation Of Marketing Cloud Expansion


Salesforce.com’s plans to acquire social media monitoring platform Radian6 for $326 million got a positive response from Wall Street. The announcement also had industry insiders immediately speculating about whether Salesforce would continue to expand into the marketing cloud with further acquisitions.

Salesforce pointed out that the acquisition will extend the value of the Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Chatter and Force.com with social intelligence. “With Radian6, salesforce.com is gaining the technology and market leader in social media monitoring,” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. “We see this as a huge opportunity. Not only will this acquisition accelerate our growth, it will extend the value of all of our offerings.”

SXSW and The Digital Conversation

This year’s South By Southwest Interactive festival didn’t deliver much breaking news. That’s surprising because SXSWi has become an annual pilgrimage for tech geeks looking to discover the next Twitter or Foursquare.

This time around mostly incremental improvements were rolled out, like CNN’s “Open Stories” initiative. In case you missed it – and you probably did – Open Stories is basically a platform where users can contribute content to individual stories with photos, location-mapping and text. Yeah, it’s a lot like Wikipedia.

Salesforce.com Acquires Dimdim For Facebook-Like Communication Collaboration

Salesforce.com recently announced its acquisition of Dimdim for approximately $31 million in cash, which will extend the Salesforce Chatter collaboration platform with critical real-time communication technologies, following the Facebook model of combining real-time collaboration and communication into a single integrated service.

The acquisition will enable Salesforce.com to build on the momentum of 60,000 Chatter customers, accelerating the industry shift to Cloud 2.

BranchIt For Chatter Wins Salesforce.com’s AppQuest Award For Relationship App

Salesforce.com challenged developers to build the next killer app on the Force.com platform at AppQuest 2010. While over 100 apps were submitted, BranchIt Corporation, provider of cloud-based relationship discovery solutions, was selected as the winner. Built using Force.com, BranchIt for Chatter is immediately available for deployment on the ChatterExchange, an entirely new category of social apps on AppExchange 2.

BranchIt for Chatter is designed to uncover relationships held by employees across the entire company and feeds them through Salesforce Chatter to users. Specific functionality includes automated contact syncing, relationship discovery, relationship strength scoring, contact following, account following and related management reports. The application makes use of Chatter, Jigsaw, Apex code, Visualforce, various e-mail platform integrations and is accessible via standard web browsers and mobile devices.
